setting up Lambeth’s Inward Investment service

Client: London Borough of Lambeth

Remarkable City supported Lambeth’s Investment & Growth team in the establishment of their new inward investment function.  The new team is tasked with attracting businesses to the borough, delivering against the borough’s vision of inclusive growth.

Embedded in the team, Remarkable City established industry relationships and designed processes that delivered economic growth in line with Lambeth's Creative and Digital Industries strategy.  The team helped establish Lambethnow.co.uk, working alongside the Lambeth team and design agency Playne Design.

Remarkable City worked with Lambeth's planning and regeneration teams, and with landowners, developers, property agents, workspace operators and target businesses to create a strong pipeline of businesses and commercial space.

The team also helped grow Lambeth's set of affordable workspaces that support startup and cluster growth, and provide connectivity and inclusivity.  Highlights included Waterloo Works, for which the team helped write the successful GLA Good Growth Fund application.

“Remarkable City helped Lambeth to design and launch its new Inward Investment function, setting up internal systems and establishing external relationships to develop a solid pipeline of target businesses and buildings that delivered against the council’s Future Lambeth vision and Creative and Digital Industries strategy.  They were systematic and innovative, and deeply understood LB Lambeth’s culture and values, and provided critical external and internal leadership beyond the launch of the function"

Matthew Blades, Business and Inward Investment Lead, London Borough of Lambeth
